About
Hey, I'm Luke π

I moved to Spring Hill from Portland, Maine in October 2021 with my wife and kids. We didn't know anyone here, had never lived here before, and were making one of the biggest decisions of our lives based on scattered information across dozens of websites.
School zoning was on one site. Tax rates on another. Subdivision data was buried in realtor listing pages. The Maury vs Williamson county split β the single most important thing to understand about Spring Hill β wasn't explained clearly anywhere.
So I built what I wished existed when I was doing my research.
What this is
The Spring Hillian is a free, data-driven guide to Spring Hill, Tennessee. It covers neighborhoods, schools, cost of living, safety, commute times, healthcare, and everything else that actually matters when you're evaluating a move here.
Every data point is sourced from public records β Census data, FBI crime statistics, Tennessee Department of Education, city government documents, and verified listing data. The goal is to give you an honest, complete picture of what life in Spring Hill is actually like β the good and the not-so-good.
I actually built a similar website for the area where I used to live, and it was a ton of fun helping other people navigate a big move. So I figured I'd do it again for Spring Hill.
A note on "My Opinion"
Throughout the guides, you'll occasionally see sections labeled "My Opinion" β that's me sharing my personal take based on living here. The data and facts stand on their own, but sometimes context from an actual resident is useful. I try to keep those clearly separated from the sourced data so you know what's fact and what's just my opinion :)
About me
I work in tech β I'm a product and marketing guy who likes building things on the internet. I was formerly the Director of New Products at Zapier, an AI and automation company. These days I work remotely from Spring Hill, which is one of the reasons this town works so well for my family β great quality of life, no state income tax, and you can actually afford a nice house.
I live here with my wife and our four kids. We homeschool, so while I cover the public school districts in detail (it's the #1 question people ask), our family doesn't personally use them. That said, Spring Hill has one of the strongest homeschool communities in middle Tennessee β it's a big part of why we chose this area.
We're on the Williamson County side, about 35 minutes from Nashville and 15 from Franklin. We genuinely love it here.
